Although Minnis Bay is a relatively safe place to windsurf, we like to make sure our members and visitors to the bay are not put at risk.
The club operates a safety boat which which will be launched by available members if a windsurfer is in diffculty. However, in the event of an emergency, call 999 and ask for the coastguard.
The club is also introducing a more active safety boat presence during busy periods and offshore wind sailing conditions to improve the confidence of its members.
Our boat is a Humber 4m Rigid Inflatable powered by a 25HP four-stroke engine.
We have even built own own custom launching aid to help get the boat to the water's edge across the sand at low tide!
